Great Free Software
I use a lot of free software. Here’s my list of favorites, I think I’ll update it sometimes.
Table of Contents
Hackers (iOS)
Hackers is a great Hacker News client for iOS. It’s super simple, fast, small and clean. My only complaints are that the comments view is a little hard to follow and it sometimes fails to connect.
Howl (Linux/BSD)
Fast, simple and good-looking keyboard-centric text editor. Development seems to have ceased, the last release is from 2019 and it’s lacking a lot of features. It’s great for simple text editing, though.
NetNewsWire (iOS/Mac)
Simply the best RSS reader for iOS.
Prism Launcher (Linux/Windows/Mac)
Minecraft launcher, fork of MultiMC. Up to date, works really well, easy to use but still has a lot of features. It’s native with Qt instead of the official launcher’s stupid webview.
Kitty (Linux/Mac/BSD)
Kitty is my terminal emulator of choice. It’s fast, simple, but with cool features like images, has no annoying GUI while still supporting things like tabs, has great defaults, and generally just works™.
